SaltBlock Hospitality Group is made up of passionate team members who thrive on preparing delicious food and delivering epic events to our clients. We’re looking for a passionate Lead Catering Chef team member to join our events team and contribute to leading and executing meals at events venues around the Greater Tampa area.

Critical Responsibilities & Deliverables

The Catering Lead Chef will be responsible for the following:

Lead by example and manage event setup, execution + breakdown
Manage off-site kitchen setup through delegation; see all tasks through to completion + hold your Kitchen Team accountable
Supervise, direct, and oversee your kitchen team through the execution of on-site tasks such as: plate-up, preparing, heating, frying, carving, serving, garnishing, and replenishing all food items
Work with the client and Event Lead when necessary to make final decisions + problem solve
Understand the event menu comprehensively, including allergen and dietary restrictions
Follow ALL food handling procedures before, during and after events
Manage the proper and clean execution of plating menu items and OSM adherence
Maintain a clean cut appearance on events; wear proper event uniform; hold Event Team accountable for adhering to the same standard.
Interact positively with guests, contributing to the event experience, communicate menu items to guests when necessary
Work with the Event Lead to manage and oversee the Event Team to execute successful events

Candidates Must Possess:

Previous experience in managing food production in a catering or banquet environment
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 20+ lbs
Follow instructions and work as part of a team
Ability to teach others and learn as a team leader and member
Punctuality + ability to follow a set timeline
Detail oriented focus
Interpret and execute written instructions
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Compensation:

$17-$22/hr based on culinary and management experience
$19/$22/hour
